Keg crafting plan

Build the machine count your harvest actually needs

Review every formula →

A target such as “84 Kegs” is only useful when it becomes a chest checklist. This page subtracts machines already built, applies the in-game recipe to the remainder, and shows the material that stops the next craft.

01

Start with a throughput target

Use the Keg capacity calculator first when the target is still a guess. It ties the machine count to one crop stack, processing cycle, and deadline instead of copying a shed layout blindly.

02

Count finished bars, not loose ore

The Keg recipe consumes Copper Bars and Iron Bars. Enter the bars already ready to craft; furnace time, ore, and Coal remain separate farm-planning decisions.

03

Treat Oak Resin as a timed input

The result highlights the first limiting material. If Oak Resin is short, the useful next action is usually managing Tappers and collection timing rather than buying more Wood.

Crafting recipe only · does not price Sheds, ore, Coal, furnaces, Tappers, or travel time · all entered material counts stay in this browser.

How the plan is made

One Keg needs 30 Wood, 1 Copper Bar, 1 Iron Bar, and 1 Oak Resin.

01

Subtract built Kegs

Only the gap between the target and the Kegs already on the farm needs a new recipe.

02

Apply the recipe

Multiply the remaining Keg count by 30 Wood, 1 Copper Bar, 1 Iron Bar, and 1 Oak Resin.

03

Subtract chest stock

The result shows what can be crafted immediately, the limiting material, and the exact shopping or gathering list still left.

Common questions

Before you load the shed

See privacy details →
What materials are needed to craft one Keg in Stardew Valley?

One Keg requires 30 Wood, 1 Copper Bar, 1 Iron Bar, and 1 Oak Resin. The recipe is unlocked at Farming Level 8 in unmodded Stardew Valley 1.6.x.

Does the calculator subtract Kegs I already built?

Yes. Set the total machine target and the number already on the farm. ValleyMath applies the recipe only to the difference.

Can I enter materials already stored in my chests?

Yes. Enter current Wood, Copper Bars, Iron Bars, and Oak Resin. The result shows how many Kegs can be crafted now and the exact shortage for the full target.

Does this include ore, Coal, furnace time, or shop prices?

No. The in-game Keg recipe consumes finished bars, so this page stops at the crafting inventory. Ore smelting, Coal, shop prices, Sheds, and Tappers are deliberately kept outside the result.

Why is Oak Resin often the bottleneck?

Wood and ore can be gathered or purchased in larger bursts, while Oak Resin arrives on a Tapper cycle. The calculator identifies the current limiting material so you can plan the next collection instead of over-gathering something else.
