Wine gains the same proportional value per Cask day at each quality step. Stop at Silver or Gold when you need cash sooner; use more valuable Wine when absolute gold per Cask day is the goal.

Wine aging decisions

Use the Cellar for the Wine that earns the most per Cask day

Review every formula →

A Cask always improves eligible Wine, but Cellar space is fixed and the money is locked until you remove the bottle. The useful comparison is added gold per occupied Cask day, plus the exact date you can collect and reload.

01

Expensive Wine creates more gold per Cask day

Wine gains the same percentage of its current base value over each aging step. Starfruit and Ancient Fruit Wine therefore create more absolute gold from one Cask day than low-price fruit Wine.

02

Silver and Gold are cash-timing choices

Normal Wine reaches Silver in 14 days, Gold in 28 total days, and Iridium in 56. The proportional gain per day stays level, so collecting early is mainly about getting cash back sooner.

03

Count the bottles that do not fit

The result separates Wine loaded now from Wine waiting outside the Cellar, then converts that gap into the exact 20 Wood and 1 Hardwood recipe for each additional Cask.

How the plan is made

Wine aging is a quality multiplier applied over real Cellar days.

01

Price the Wine you already made

Fruit base price × 3 gives normal Wine value. Artisan adds 40%, then Silver, Gold, or Iridium quality applies its published multiplier.

02

Subtract quality already earned

Silver or Gold Wine uses only the remaining days and remaining value increase instead of restarting the full 56-day clock.

03

Move through the Stardew calendar

The ready date advances through four 28-day seasons and rolls into the next year when needed.

Common questions

Before you load the shed

See privacy details →
How long does Wine take to age in a Cask?

Normal Wine reaches Silver quality after 14 days, Gold after 28 total days, and Iridium after 56 total days. Starting with Silver or Gold Wine uses only the remaining time.

Is aging Wine worth it in Stardew Valley?

Aging always raises the sale value of eligible Wine, but the opportunity is limited by Cellar space and time. Each Wine quality step has the same proportional gain per Cask day, so higher-value Wine creates more absolute gold from the same slot.

Does the Artisan profession increase aged Wine value?

Yes. Artisan adds 40% to the Wine sale price, and the selected Silver, Gold, or Iridium quality multiplier applies to that Wine value. The calculator shows the exact per-bottle result with Artisan on or off.

Can a Cask age Wine outside the Cellar?

No. Casks can be placed elsewhere, but they accept goods for aging only when they are inside the Farmhouse Cellar.

How many Casks fit in the Cellar?

The final Farmhouse upgrade includes 33 Casks. Common published layouts use 125 accessible Casks on PC or 118 on mobile. A fully packed 189-Cask layout requires placing and removing Casks to reach the back rows.

How are missing Cask materials calculated?

Wine that does not fit becomes the one-run Cask shortfall. Each additional Cask requires 20 Wood and 1 Hardwood, so the calculator multiplies that exact recipe by the waiting bottle count.
