What to put in a Keg when profit and time both matter

Kegs convert crops and several special inputs into drinks with very different batch sizes and cycles. The harder question is which profitable loads fit before your deadline, not which item has the biggest price in isolation.

Check the stack you are about to load

Select Starfruit, Ancient Fruit, a vegetable, or a modeled special input and compare its supported Keg route with selling that same stack raw. Use the crop benchmark when you need a broader crop ranking.

Keg processing time is part of profit

The model uses seven morning checks for Wine and four for Juice. That matches a player who checks machines once per in-game morning and avoids promising an awkward mid-day reload.

High-quality inputs have a higher opportunity cost

A Keg output does not preserve crop quality, while selling the crop raw does. The calculation subtracts the quality-adjusted raw price from each finished batch instead of assuming every input stack is normal quality.

Keg count is a throughput question

The rough capacity note converts remaining profitable batches into machine-mornings using each stack’s strongest gold-per-morning route. It is a directional estimate, not a second optimized plan or a crafting-resource calculator.

What should I put in a Keg?

Choose the crop or special input you actually have, then compare its supported Keg route with the raw-sale alternative. Expensive fruit can win on value per item, while a faster route can win when Kegs are the bottleneck.
