Compare crop profit before you load a machine
The benchmark answers a narrow question honestly: under one machine, quality, profession, and sort measure, which crop creates more added value? The full planner then answers the harder question of which stacks in your actual chest should use limited machines first.
The best crop depends on the machine
Switch between Keg, Jar, and Dehydrator and sort by extra gold per input or per occupied machine morning. The table keeps quality and profession fixed so the comparison is like for like.
Separate harvests by arrival day
A crop available on Day 5 cannot occupy a machine on Day 0. Add another row for a future harvest rather than blending it into current inventory. The scheduler will wait for the batch before assigning a start day.
Separate quality when opportunity cost matters
Normal, Silver, Gold, and Iridium crops can share a name but not a raw sale value. Distinct rows let the planner prefer lower-quality inputs when their finished artisan product would sell for the same amount.
Reserve what the farm still needs
Keep can protect crops for bundles, quests, cooking, gifts, seeds, or personal stock. The planner reports reserved value separately, so those units do not inflate backlog or pretend to be available for production.
Model scope: unmodded Stardew Valley 1.6.x · crop, brew, mushroom, honey, Raisin, and Caviar routes · one morning check per day · machines start empty on Day 0 · Casks are not included.
How the plan is made
A fair crop ranking fixes the machine, quality, profession, and time measure.
Count real capacity
Every batch occupies a real machine until the morning collection day shown in the plan.
Protect opportunity cost
Quality and the selected profession path change what the exact input stack would sell for raw. Artisan includes the Tiller crop bonus where it applies.

Common questions
Before you load the shed
What are the best crops for processing?
Use the page benchmark to fix one machine, quality, and profession, then sort by added gold per input or per machine morning. A mixed chest still needs the full planner because inventory and arrival dates change the executable answer.
Should I process gold and iridium crops first?
Not automatically. Artisan outputs generally do not preserve crop quality, so high-quality crops have a larger raw opportunity cost. Enter separate quality rows and let the shared plan compare them.
Can I include a harvest that arrives later?
Yes. Add the crop as its own row and set its Ready day. It becomes eligible only after that day, which keeps the queue executable.
How do I keep crops out of the recommendation?
Use the Keep field for bundles, seeds, quests, recipes, gifts, or personal reserves. Kept units are excluded from both processing and backlog.
Which crop routes are covered?
The catalog includes the major 1.6.x crop, brew, Jar, Dehydrator, mushroom, honey, Raisin, and Roe routes currently supported by the planner.
